New Place
I got a call from Endeavor, Physician's Plazza II 8042 Wurzbach STE 420 Satx 78229 210-949-0807. They're looking for toe fungus participants. Big toes...do not cut your nails or get pedi...must be no more than six toes(including both bid toes)...you get your toenails scraped and must be at 717 to 20% within ten minutes before a Doctor will come in to examine your toes. Then, if you qualify, they send off the fungus cuture for 30 days. These results are for your second qualification. Once in it takes 14 months (if you qualify) but hey, you get paid about a grand and rid yourself of fungus for free. I sadly did not qualify, AGAIN. Note: they may ask you to send them a picture of your toes via mobile...totally legit so don't freak out. It's just so they can determine whether or not you should come in at all for the exam.
Also, they were interested in the flu so if you think you have it (fever is your first clue that it's not a cold) and you haven't taken over counter meds or been to doctor yet...call Endeavor if your feeling up to it. Not sure what the compensation is but it's a check up by a nurse/doctor and FREE!!

Icon
ICON DEVELOPMENT OFF BROADWAY AND GAULT
Hello again. I am just a person seeking a means to an end. The means must be on the bus line or within walking distance and must not interfere with my personal space. That is why I started looking at clinical trials.
One, unemployed but searching. Two, in a personal crisis with decisions to make. Three, eight year old grandchild who is more precious to me than life's ups and downs.
I did go to another lab, but that didn't work out and left me feeling put out and rather bitter. I never participated in the trial as I was cut three days before check in time based on last minute decisions made by the panel of doctors. But hey that's the breaks and you move on. Just telling you this to prepare you for the unexpected.
So, I went to Icon. What a lovely place. Very serene, very comfortable. The staff was cozy professional. Yep, that's what I said.
They were professional in that they were all trained in the medical field in some capacity. They explained everything to you like they knew you for years and you had just stopped by for a little visit and some advice.
I found them through this site, looked at what studies they had at the time and then received a phone call within one to two business days. I called back and found out that I could schedule an appointment on my own when I registered on their site. This works particularly well for me as I have a prepaid phone and it saves me on minutes.
My first screening was a one on one information tell all and physical exam. Mine did not involve blood test or fasting, yet. That will come later.
Now I'm on to screening number two and will let you know how that goes. If it goes well, then a third screening with blood tests will let me know if I am eligible for this particular study.
I hope I can help them out and should I find employment after qualification, I will insist on honoring a prior commitment.
Keep you posted. :)
PS just a simple plug :D

I found this website while searching for clinical trials to participate in. I recently left my husband of twenty seven years and at the age of 52, I have very little in the way of certified experience to fall back on. Between the two of us there is debt to pay off but I refuse to file bankruptcy and will pay off half of this debt even if it takes to the end of my lifespan. But the good news is that people are living to be over 100 so I'm pretty sure I'll have it taken care of way before then.
I am hoping that as a 52 year old female who, after years of abuse by her spouse (Down with Domestic Violence WHOOP WHOOP), finds that God has graced her with fabulous health. No, I mean fabulous health as in no heart problems, great cholesteral levels, no diabetes, no nothing.
I have been in search of employment for going on seven years now, but here in San Antonio, Texas they want Young and Short and Mostly Hispanic. Don't go all belligerent on me because I will just drag you around the city and prove what I just said, so there.
I have spent a great deal of time defending my height as well. You haven't lived until some man asks you if you're really a female because you're tall and have big hands and feet. I say if you are six feet tall and over, you would have a balance problem if you have small hands and feet. But I digress.
I started this blog page to share the what where and therefore's of clinical trials. i will share with you the things I learn along the way in hopes that it will benefit you even if it doesn't benefit me.
First thing noticed is the demand for male participation. So you healthy males...or unhealthy males, get to those websites and make yourselves some extra cash for holidays, vacations, etc. Favorite age group is 18-45 years old. Favorite choice is non smoking but there are a few sites looking for smokers both males and females so there is still hope for all you smokers who are now being shunned by society. I was a smoker so I feel great to be able to share this information with you.
Next is mental health, if you are certified with one you might want to check out some of these trials especially if on disability and looking for a way to help out your fellow man with safer pharmaceuticals, and make some extra cash throughout the year.
And then there are the allergy trials. It is the season here in San Antonio so if you have doctor's proof then check 'em out. We all could use a little cash to pay for the OTC and Prescription allergy meds, am I right, especially Cedar and Hay Fever right now.
So, Clinical Connection is new to me. I put in an email yesterday and they are extremely prompt...not something I'm used to. I have submitted the questionaire and chosen two trial studies, both of which I would probably do for free as they affect many women of my age group. So I will keep you posted on those. I will give them credit for my starting this blog page also. Most clinics (CEDRA aka World Wide Clinical Trials) want you to keep your experiences hush hush. That is why, whether chosen or not, I chose to blog and encourage, even ask that you share your experiences and help others along as well.
Enough for now. But will blog again soon. :)
